PRIDE ALL MONTH LONG

It was an absolute honour for Inspire DS Inc. to have the opportunity to work on this gorgeous project. Just look at it - it’s GORGEOUS.

This stunning statue was created by Custom Engineered Arts and installed just outside Commerce Court in downtown Toronto. Through our friends at Fleurs de Villes, we were asked to design a faux + potted installation using every colour of the pride flag. We sourced the most realistic faux florals through our favourite floral suppliers, hunted around for the best potted plants that would work with the colour scheme, and got to work May 31st to install this beauty,

We constructed a chicken wire “sausage” (as I like to call it) to hold all the florals in place. Everything had to be securely wired in to avoid florals blowing off, being stolen or falling out. This location has definitely been giving us a run for our money. It’s completely uncovered and situated in a downtown wind tunnel. If it’s extremely hot and sunny, the potted plants dry out right away. When it’s windy, they entire installation likes to move around, With a job like this we’re tending to the products every other day and sometimes the days in between depending on the environment we’re facing.

For what it’s worth, it might be a handful to keep something this beautiful all June long, but every time I arrive at the install and I’m so proud. It represents my design style - something I’ve worked hard to establish over the 11 years I’ve been in business and it’s exactly what I dreamt it to be,
